L. Sprague de Camp's fun novella was first published in Astounding, in 1939, and should be read in the light of those times. The world was different then.

I spent hours last night, and this morning, trying to decipher when Leigh Brackett's "The Sword of Rhiannon" was first published, and where. I found things I already knew (such as that this is also known by the title "Sea-Kings of Mars" (and this may have been the original title). I find the original copyright in 1953, by ace books, but maddeningly, it does not say which book it is in. There are already several well-written reviews of this:
