Here we see it intersect Legacy and Rebellion. Rebellion is the only Star Wars ongoing I don't read (and this was actually its last installment), and its contribution here is fine-- Luke, Leia, and Han come off well enough, and the bits we get about Rebellion's original characters are interesting enough to make me want more. I hope the series gets collected in an Omnibus sooner or later. The Legacy story is where things heat up, however-- Celeste Morne's presence in this era totally changes the game in a way I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, a lot of this issue is taken up by tedious relationship drama between Cade Skywalker and his Zeltron bit of stuff. Mostly what we get here is the Big Event, to which my reaction could go either way-- I look forward to seeing what Legacy does with it as it wraps up its third year. The Star Wars comic crossover continues. The segment set during the Rebellion is typical of stories that are shoehorned into the existing continuity between the films: it accomplishes nothing with the large-scale plot and triggers no character development because it can’t. The segment during Legacy, on the other hand, is free to move events forward with the main plotline, and it does so quite well, with Cade Skywalker and his unlikely allies luring the Sith Emperor, Darth Krayt, into a confrontation, with Celeste Morne and her Sith artifact as bait. Cade Skywalker remains an interesting reprobate: unable to decide which woman he wants to be with, and sufficiently disgusted with both Sith and Jedi that he can resist both temptations and moral exhortations. no reviews | add a review

The story arc from Legacy was a bit more satisfying, continuing to move Legacy's own storyline along while also providing an ending to the cross-over Vector event. The storytelling was a little choppy at time, but we see more of what makes Legacy compelling: Cade Skywalker's balancing act between the light and dark side, and the political power struggles between and within the Jedi, the Imperial Knights, and the Sith.
