Book #36, I Am Legend is the story of the last man on earth amongst an epidemic of vampires. Immune himself, he studies the vampires in attempts to uderstand the nature of the affliction and the nature of vapirism in general, hoping ot find a cure. He begins to understand that much of the ...

Kiwidoc, Yes, I agree. I have Neverwhere to read and am looking forward to it - especially after watching a dvd of the series made by the BBC. It was a pretty ordinary production, but still a great story.
I read I am Legend last year. I liked it. As for movies of it, I prefer Vincent Price's The Last Man on Earth. I can't remember the Omega Man with Heston. Need to look it up again.
Edit: I just put in a request for Mr. X at my local library.

Another one you should try if you haven't already is Richard Matheson's novella I Am Legend. Please don't let the TERRIBLE Will Smith movie put you off this one.

Great books Judylou! I liked the Handmaid's Tale and American Gods a lot, but I haven't read I am Legend.
Okay, combining a classic novel with Akiva Goldsmith and Will Smith should be a crime. To put it kindly, the Will Smith I Am Legend sucked, big time.

Really good story. If you have seen the movie, you will like the book. A quick read that captures you early on and keeps you reading to the end compulsively! Some of the science is a little bit dated, but that doesn't matter. Recommended.
