At first glance, this book looks very out of place in my quilting library. My quilting tends toward traditional pieced blocks, using reproduction fabrics or batiks. I don't like bright colors or stark black and white. I love intricate piecing, and find applique terrifying. My quilting library is heavy on quilt/textile history and light on patterns.

But I would challenge anyone to look at a quilt by Freddy or Gwen without smiling. These are happy, happy, high energy quilts. This is not a pattern book. The authors provide suggestions, inspiration, and encouragement to just relax and have fun with your quilting. Highly recommended. ( )
