Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell: A Novel by Susanna Clarke (Jannes)
Jannes: A bit earlier time-wise than Falkenstein, But a great source for inspiration on how 19th century society might operate when magic and faeries are a fact of life. Also a great take on magicians and magic in war sans fireballs and magic missiles.
