This is a matter-of-fact guide to typical parenting challenges that might be encountered along the journey of parenting and child who has been adopted, rather than joining their family through birth. For the parent who wonders "is this because of being adopted, or is this a normal part of child development?" this book offers some guideposts. There are some great suggestions for making the fact of adoption a part of everyday life, as well as providing opportunities for children to process and work through the facts of their loss of birth parents and their individual identities. Well written with information all the way through adult-hood. ( )

This was a good book. Lots of info on separation/loss & how it manifests at different stages in a child's life. Lot's of resources for extra reading on many different subjects. Highly recommend. ( )
