Genre: Biography - This book is a good example of a biography because it is true facts about a persons life that has been made into a book and written as a really interesting story. Everything about this book is true, it has a lot of details which makes it very interesting. It gives us true facts about where she lived, what she did, and how she did it. These facts can be proven.

Setting; This book took place in a lot of different places, but if any were different then they would no longer be true and it would be made up so it would no longer be a biography of Amelia Earhart. The setting has to be this way to keep this story the way it is, to keep it a good story.

Art Media: Pen drawing

Style: This book was hard to find a style in it since it was basically just telling the story of Amelia Earhart's life, but we did see some imagery because I could visualize what was happening while I was reading.

Amelia Earhart was a woman of many "firsts." In 1932, she became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1935, she also became the first woman to fly across the Pacific. In 1937 she disappeared while attempting a flight around the world. This is a very resourceful book about a great women in our past. I really like how they made it an easy reader for younger readers.
Teachers could use this for a History lesson or even as a creative writing assignment. ( )

In the biography of Amelia Earhart it describes how women were really suppost to act. Amelia Earhart was different, she knew what she wanted to do and no man was going to stand in her way. She loved flying airplanes and breaking records. Everytime Amelia Earhart would fly her airplane she would always try to get higher and higher. She flew across the ocean and back and that started her career and helped her to get famous (which is what Amelia wanted). As the years went on, she married her coworker and tried her best to bread another record. Amelia was going to fly across the world in so many days. When she almost got to the place to land Amelia disappeared. She had no way of contacting anyone to come and find her. Still to this day, people are still looking for Amelia Earhart, and her plane. I learned from this story that Amelia Earhart never made it across the world. I always thought that she just died of old age. I was real disturbing for me to find out that Amelia was never found. In the classroom, I would like to read this story and explain to the children that women were not allowed to do anything. Explaining the role of the woman and having the children write what they think should have happened. A big discussion could take place over reading the Amelia Earhart story. ( )
