I do believe this is my favorite Bess Streeter Aldrich book. I have read A Lantern In Her Hand and White Bird Flying. This one kept me coming back for more. She writes so beautifully of the Nebraskan prairie and develops characters wonderfully. This is a real treat for any reader. ( )
