Mortimer finds the perfect bed in the nativity scene manger. He moves the baby out of the way and sleeps in the manger day after day, telling the nativity figures that there is no room for them. He has a change of heart when he hears the family telling the story of the first Christmas. ( )

Mortimer the mouse keeps kicking Jesus out of his bed in the manger scene until he comes to the realization that maybe this isn't the best idea. The book rides a line very well, I think, and it makes me laugh. ( )
