This story is a family, supportive book. I love the bright colors of the pictures. I also like the diverse animals in the story.

Sweet Briar is nervous about being the only skunk at camp. It turns out there are many skunks but she sees a little porcupine all alone. The porcupine is having trouble making friends until Sweet Briar invites her to be her friend. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0803729715, Hardcover)

Sweet Briar, the not-so-sweet-smelling skunk, is back and this time she’s off to day camp. At camp there is a porcupine named Petal who is the butt of everyone’s jokes. Even though Petal seems to laugh it off with good humor, Sweet Briar knows all too well how it feels to be left out. Can she figure out a way to include the prickly porcupine and still keep her new friends? Of course she can, she’s Sweet Briar!
