Who wouldn’t like to be handed their wildest dreams? When Samuel Doherty, a struggling artist, recognizes one of his own paintings hanging in a tent at a local concert, he meets Garr, the lavender-eyed giant who says he can bestow upon him the fortune he’s always wanted. All he has to do is accept it when it comes to him, and wear a strange, tear-shaped pendant, which can never be taken off. Sounds like a cushy gig. Skip ahead five years and Garr was true to his word. Samuel is rich beyond his dreams, known worldwide for his paintings, loved by many…and terrified. Something has been stalking him, day and night, ever since he put the pendant on. And as he becomes more aware of this presence, he catches maddening glimpses of the shape-shifting creatures that monitor his every move.
