It tells the life story of two Cuban brothers, Cesar and Nestor Castillo, who came to the U.S. in the 1930's. They are far less moral than beasts, and the language in the book is revolting. I have not one good thing to say for this filthy book, and that it was given the Pulitzer Prize makes me sick. I have not [as of the time I read this] read Updike because I didn't think I could stomach his obscenity, but nothing could be worse than this trash I've just read.
