Amazon preorder ( )At 28%, I'm thinking - more drama. It got a lot better, even if I am not particularly fond of love triangles... However, at least now everything is out in the open, and eventhough Faythe has a knack for getting herself in trouble, she ends up solving problems as well. I feel so bad for both Marc and Jace, and I can't see how Faythe will ever be able to solve that problem... It's going to be a bumpy road coming for them all, still. I look forward to seeing what'll happen next, but I hope that the ride will be a little less bumpy! I can't wait to read about the war with Malone! Read for Fun! BBA Group Series Read (November 2011) Audiobook Rating 4.50 Overall Rating 4.25 Story Rating 4.50 Character Rating 4.00 NOTE: This review will contain spoilers if you haven't read up to book 4 in the series. Also Shift for me (and Alpha to) can be broken down into what I Loved and what I Didn't Like---there really was no in-between for me. What I Loved: Things are getting hot in here! Seriously the action, pacing, and kick *ssness have been turned up a notch. We have spent the last 4 books getting to know all these beloved characters and this book just pulled the rug out from under us. I was a sobbing mess in a couple of different areas. I seriously was holding on for dear life during all the interactions with the Thunderbirds. Every emotion that a person can feel was brilliantly displayed in Shift and I couldn't quit listening! What I Did Not Like: I can't stand triangles. They usually just don't do anything for me. In this case, I think it was an unnecessary level of drama. Plus, when Faythe was dealing with either Marc or Jace she reminded me too much of the character she was in book 1 (which I did not like at all). Overall, it was only a little bit of a distraction in Shift but a whole different story for Alpha. Excellent storytelling/world building http://www.dnsmedia.co.uk/reviews/view/1182 I'm left with little to say that won't be a spoiler other than, "Dangit, why can't more authors work in some polyamory instead of using the same old jealousy-based plots?" Because I do NOT find that entertaining or interesting at ALL! The Thunderbirds are very interesting, and I'd like to know a lot more about their culture than what we get here.I'm having a lot of trouble believing some of the political machinations in the plot, but I suppose I'm extremely naive about what people will believe when they want to ignore the truth. no reviews | add a review
