Loading... Finn Mac Coolby Morgan Llywelyn
None. While I am a huge fan of Llewelyn's - and very into the mythologies related to the Celts, I was initially disappointed with this novel. Through the first 100 to 150 pages - I found the story wandering a great deal with no strong focus. However, once the story gets rolling -- it definitely gets rolling, and I was sucked straight in. The last two-thirds of the book were very difficult to put down - and I found myself with a great deal of empathy for the main character throughout. The detail of the story is wonderful and the character development is absolutely wonderful - as I have come to expect from a Llewelyn novel. Finn Mac Cool, son of Cuhal Mac Trenmor and Muirinn of the White Throat, is a man of myth and legend who was a small leader of a group of fennidi, but rose to lead the warriors of the Fianna who guarded the King of Tara. He married his beloved Sive on a day of battle and they struggle through the struggles of their homeland. Wonderful story of the early days of Ireland and its legends. I just can't say enough good things about this author. Another exciting story about a legendary (third century)Irish warrior. Read it - end everything else by Llywelyn. no reviews | add a review

When the time is right, when I'm in the mood for the particular style this re-telling of a legend is written in, I'll take it down.
It is definitely to be kept in the legend section of the library, though! (
