Work detailsDouble Standards by Judith McNaught (1994)
None. One of my guilty pleasures! ( )This was my first Judith Mcnaught book...... and WOW, What A Book it was!!!!Absolutely loved Nick and Lauren. Nick was sssssooooooo darn smokin' *sigh sigh*.Great story, great characterization, great dialogues... all in all a great book.OHHH & did I mention that Nick is smokin' HAWT!!!!!If you haven't read it yet... Please Do.Not to be missed. Highly Recommended!!!! Light romance full of misunderstandings. The hero is kind of a jerk, with trust issues that stem from an unhappy childhood. The heroine is young and innocent; the hero is the jealous type who plays the field. Double standards, indeed. I wasn't a huge fan of this book. The hero is a successful businessman overcoming childhood neglect, but as a result he considers women objects. Not to say that this is an unusual type in romance novels, but it is semi-difficult to overcome. In this case, the hero never changes his opinion of women in general, merely the one he's obsessed with. So that's a bummer. Also, the 80s fashion is funny to read nowadays. Business tycoon Nick Sinclair chases after employee Lauren Danner. He seduces and falls for her, not knowing that she is being blackmailed to deceive him, despite their love for each other. I love this story, but the conclusion was too abrupt. no reviews | add a review
