I will eventually read them with an eye toward lambasting them in reviews, but I fear that my efforts will pale in comparison to those of Fred Clark: ... ... own it for a reason—it didn't fall out of the sky onto your shelf—then it's still a data point.

Tuesday I read the graphic novel Serenity: Those Left Behind. It did a nice job of filling in some of the gaps between the TV series Firefly and the movie Serenity, but I wish there was more. I am not ... I read Serenity: Those Left Behind Tuesday, and like people have said on the TV thread, I like it, it is better than nothing, but it doesn't compare with having another episode.

 #178 -- There are a few graphic novels that attempt to bridge the gap (Serenity: Those Left Behind is the first one, I think). They're better than nothing, though not as good as having more episodes of the actual show. :-( I just finished Serenity: Those Left Behind by Joss Whedon, a graphic novel which could or could not count as YA depending on who you ask. If there are any Firefly fans in here, it does a good job portraying the events between the tv show and the movie.

I tried to get into the Left Behind movies, but very few of these were in close captions for the deaf, plus they were obviously not faithful to the books overly much, which tended to ruin it for me. :(
