A conservative theology, partly in response to von Rad and his declaration that no inner coherent unity could be found in OT theology.

Kaiser disagrees, finding the unity in the concept of God's promise to mankind.

The theme is explored throughout the Old Testament. Many good and valuable insights, but the work is hamstrung in many places by the doctrinal prejudices of the Evangelical (faith-only, dispensational premillenarian) perspective. ( )
