The writing seemed ‘simple’ compared to his other books. Didn’t like the sex crazed character or graphic details… ( ) As always you know what you are getting with a James Patterson novel, big print, short chapters, rapid changes of scene and a page-turning thriller. This one is the story of Maggie Bradford a shy girl turned international superstar singer who meets a series of unsuitable men all of who have untimely deaths. THis novel was originally published in 1995. I can't give the bok five stars as some of the 'tie-ups' at the end are a littl bit muddled, why was Will posing as Palmer (what was he trying to gain), what went on in the secret 'club within a club' and Will's shady relationship with Maggie's second husband's son. Conclusion, good read, page turning but weak ending. no reviews | add a review

It was the trial that electrified the world. Not only because of the defendant, Maggie Bradford, the woman whose songs captivated the world's heart. Not only because of the victim, Will Shepard, the world's most glamorous athlete. But also because everyone said Maggie had murdered not just one husband, but two. And because in Maggie's world - the world she feared and despised but could not escape, the world of the powerful, the rich, and the ruthless - both death and life could never be what they seemed. From James Patterson, bestselling author of KISS THE GIRLS and ALONG CAME A SPIDER, comes his most brilliantly realized thriller, a story that will shatter your expectations...and hold every last one of your nerves in thrall, with each twist of the plot and every turn of the page.
