When his parents go to their hearing Mack goes down to visit with Wanda his new college age sister down in Californa. When Wanda tries out for a cattle call with her roomate Hannah, she makes the cuts. When they air it on television Alonzo sees her and makes a few calls what will happen to Jack and Joanne? it was good but I thought that it was a bit of a let down after the first book! And I really liked the first one. Oh well!!!!! You wouldn't have to read book one (Zach's Lie) in order to appreciate book two, but it helps. I've read a few books by Roland Smith now, and I like his style for reluctant older readers. Jack's sister, Joanne, aka Christine, auditions for the next American superstar show, and makes it to the semifinals where she is filmed by several news agencies. this is not something someone in a witness protection plan should be doing! Before long, their cover is blown and the kids have been kidnapped by the very people they were trying to avoid. How Jack and Joanne escape and get subsequently resuced makes for a thrilling adventure story. Alonzo came for Jack once and he was sent to jail but now Alonzos men are acting on Alonzo'z order from his jail cell and are comming for him again. Will they catch him? Great book for adventure fans! no reviews | add a review
