Meet the Monsters is to show the different types of monsters we have, and it is telling us how to get rid of them if we ever encounter a monster. This was a strange story, but an informing story about the different "monsters" there are. ( )

Meet the Monsters is a book that teaches you about all types of monsters. It starts off with a little boy alone in bed thinking about all types of monsters. The little boy understands that monsters are not real and are just figments of our own subconscious, but he sometimes is a little afraid of them. He wants to know about all monsters and how to get rid of them just in case they are real. I think Jane Yolen's lesson in this story is that you should learn all you can about something in order to outsmart it. Yolen believes that you should always be prepared and always be willing to learn. ( )
