Sergei Fudel was a Russian Orthodox layman (1901-1976) who lived through the persecutions of the soviet regime, suffered for his perseverence in his faith and was able to write, lucidly, honestly, on the spiritual life. This is not a theological treatise but an exposition of the divine power in ordinary life. Fudel's writings carry the spiritual experiences of the pre-revolution church forward to our time. For a layman each page is a blessing. ( )
