Though I still feel that Emma is a bit too juvenile, this story was funny and interesting. There were many more secondary characters introduced throughout the tale and they were all pleasant and fun to read about. I think I liked this one more because it actually felt like there was a plot going on. Emma and Eadric help Grassina search for the items needed to turn her beloved Haywood back into a human after 20+ years as an otter. Their search introduces them to a number of interesting creatures. I definitely feel better about the series after having read the second book and will continue it. ( )Princess Emma and Prince Eadric are back in a humorous, fun-filled, and utterly charming adventure as they try to help Emma's aunt Grassina attempt to restore her otter beau back to human form. I enjoyed this second book of the series more than the first. book 2 in trilogy (1: the frog princess, 3: once upon a castle)funny, great Emma and Eadric are taken on another wild ride as they try to change Grassina's belvoed Haywood from otter to man. They must find four rare items- magic beans, feather of a horse, a green dragon's breath, and a gossemer hair form the mother-of -pearl. As they set on this quest, the two funny frogs/humans have many exciting and wondrous adventures. This is a very clever book. It kept me guessing even after it ended. It is the sequel to The Frog Princess. The next book in the series is Once Upon a Curse. Dragon's Breath by E. D. Baker is a sequel to The Frog Princess (reviewed last year). It is funny and punny. Princess Emma is learning the ropes of being the Green Witch. Her endeavours are complicated by the effects of the family curse on her Aunt and Grandmother. Her relationship with ex-frog Eadric is developing. 0.059 seconds to build listing no reviews | add a review
Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0747563403, Paperback)Emma and Eadric have no sooner turned back into humans (from being frogs) than Emma's mother is in a panic, Aunt Grassina is distracted because she's found her true love turned into an otter, and Emma's magic is so out of control she sends herself to the dungeon by mistake. The neighboring kingdom has chosen this moment to attack, and if Emma can't get Grassina's mind back on protecting the kingdom, life as they know it in Greater Greensward will be in peril. From underwater sea monsters to fire-breathing dragons, this witty pair of young friends manages to sweet-talk, cajole, and race their way to victory. But when it looks as if everything will finally work out, disaster strikes, and Emma finds that magic is not enough-it takes real bravery and a strong, new friendship to succeed.
