xXxHoLic, Volume 15

The manga have now caught up to where I had read up to online so I got to see parts here that I missed there. It is easy to see why some people who didn't follow both "Tsubasa" and "xxxHolic" might feel a bit put out and the further the story goes, "xxxHolic" appears to be no more than a shadow story concurent with the happenings in "Tsubasa". Watanuki, Yuko and the gang have given us a good trip in their own right and hopefully at the end their existence becomes just as important as Sakura and Syaoran's.

For me, since I've followed both series to see the intertwined endings from both sides looks like it may be quite interesting, if a little confusing. I'm looking forward to it. ( )

After a little more meandering we suddenly get back to the core plot with a bang. There's a lot of stuff in this volume that I presume would make more sense if I read Tsubabsa but, for once, it's doesn't jar. This is probably because, for once, Watanuki seems just as confused by everything that's happening to him as I am. You can feel an end coming which is almost novel in such a long series... ( )
