I was reading this since last Christmas but stalled at some point. But I pushed forward with it in May. It feels like something's clicked and Japanese has suddenly become easier to read. Since then (writing this in September) I've been raiding Book-Off for cheap mangas and I've pushed forward with the Death Note series (which I got for ¥1 apiece on Amazon last year). ( )

Another great entry in the manga series, although now that Charlie and I are past this point in the anime, I think I'll switch to something else. ( )

I've never once considered finding that notebook and gaining this power a misfortune. In fact, it's made me happier than I've ever been. And I'm going to create a perfect world.

Light continues to be a psychopath. Light's dad continues to be a total badass. L continues to actually live up to his reputation at his own funky pace. This serious continues to be a lot of fun. I have trepidation about the reveal from that last set of panels and the fact that the next volume is entitled Love, but let's see how it goes, right? ( )

This was was pretty intense! Quite a bit happens with L and Light and a new character is introduced. . . . ( )

I love the obsessive, logical detail put into this story. Like a hyper-detailed police procedural but in a world of the supernatural! ( )
