Loading... The Witch's Child (edition 2007)by Arthur Yorinks (Author), Joseph A. Smith (Illustrator)
This book is beautifully illustrated, but watch out -- it's not your standard 2-3-4yo picture book. The witch is, actually, evil, and unredeemed; she turns kids into thorn bushes; abandons her own "straw" child; then threatens to kill another child and her own straw child. She is ultimately KILLED when she falls into a fire instead of pushing the kid into a fire. So, umm, be prepared for a lot of on-the-fly editing if you are reading this to a little one who might not be ready for the grimmer versions of fairy tales. ( )
