This is one of a series of books that Arthur Hailey wrote that I suppose you could call dramatic thrillers, or something like that.

In this book, Hailey looks at what can happen when a stressed power supply situation has even further things go wrong with it, and what can be done to contain and prevent the problems, from the on the ground technical and repair staff to management and other associated professionals. ( )

Entering this book in librarything.com, I came across this precient quote from Fortune Mag. "Since 1974 there has been very little new generating capacity in Calif - 1/2 of 1970-1974 level. As a result, there is a very real possibility of an economically ruinous power crunch by the 1990's........" Really........?
