An interesting and circular book that eventually explains UFO's, alien disappearances, and other mysteries wrapped up in a first contact novel. ( )

A decent science fiction novel, about a race of gentle giants who long ago fled a planet in our solar system, Minerva, which exploded when the ancestors of man who remained engaged in a savage war, with the few survivors travelling to Earth. Now a group of scientists has located a small band of these gentle aliens as they seek to rejoin their species. But all three groups must contend with the warlike cousins of mankind who have been duping the Thuriens and the Ganymedians for millennia. This is a sequel to an earlier book, and would have gone smoother had I read that one first. Still, there's a lot to like here, particularly the innovative uses of advances in technology that rivals Clarke and Asimov. The writing is pretty pedestrian, though. ( )
