No, I'm not kidding. MICAH is a very short novella put into book form to make Ms. Hamilton more money. And no, I'm not kidding about that either. Thankfully, I like Micah, although I don't think there are too many more descriptions that the author can make up to describe his physical characteristics. He's not that tall, but he's big where it matters, is hotter than hot, and can have sex as often as Anita needs. Which, we all know, is basically any time she's not unconscious. I'm glad I read it, because it's part of the series. But the only thing I learned that was new is how Micah became a wereleopard and what happened to his family. That's it. Really. I tried to tell you. A short romance. Not worth what I paid for it, although I have a lot of time & money invested in the series to date, so I bought it. Against my better judgment I started reading Anita again. I used to love this series but the whole ardeur thing has made me stop reading them. It was nice to see Anita go back to her roots and raise a zombie but it is still not the same. I have mixed feelings about this. Not really because of the content, but because of the delivery. A novel this was not. It was a short story printed with 14pt type and double-spaced, with full page chapter headings to add some bulk to the book. Not really worth the $8 I spent on it (man, I remember when paperbacks were $3.50). I read it in about an hour and a half Saturday night. I'm expecting big things from her next real book in the series, which is due out in June. no reviews | add a review

Micah was never a particularly interesting character to me, so maybe I'm biased, but Anita and Micah's first night alone together does not warrant an entire book. (
