This enjoyable series maintains its pace with Lt. Commander Kris Longknife chasing space pirates. She doesn’t expect to ally with her longtime rival, the Peterwald family, but when her mission takes her into their territory, she has no choice. Terrorists, slave traders, and drug lords become her target in this latest fast-paced episode. ( )

Story was as wonderful as all the others in the series! I love this character, and I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book (man, I hate waiting so long!).

Of note, the editing seemed to be better on this than many of the earlier books. Before I was bugged by the spelling errors (often homophones), but was willing to forgive them since the stories were so much fun. There was almost nothing to forgive in this one. ( )

Pirates, slavers, and the breakdown of the Peterwald empire--Kris Longknife, now a lieutenant commander, finds plenty of action on the frontier.

If you read much military science fiction, the Tuckerizations will either make you laugh or throw you right out of the story. In my case, it was some of both.

Either I'm starting to get a little tired of this series, or this is one of the weaker entries. Not bad, certainly, just kind of blah. ( )
