Haven't we all been on a sled ride like this one? The ride is smooth as glass until you hit that bump, maybe on purpose, maybe by accident, and you go flying! There is that briefest of moments when you feel the air beneath you and the exhilerating sensation of freedom, but it is always followed by a terrifying moment when you know landing is going to be bumpy and then that knowledge is verified with pain. Well told. I wonder if Mr. Harper is referring to his own experience with his own kids in this book. ( )

This was a nice short story to end my winter storytime. The kids really liked the pictures of the kids flying. ( )
