This book would have been better if the author had taken a more comprehensive approach to the subject. Almost all the examples are of books and libraries do stock many other media now. Still, well written and not without humour. ( )

"The only really worthwhile chapters are on the structure of MARC 21 and on authority control. The rest is a mere rehashing of AACR2R with fewer examples than are available in the code itself."

"As you read the book the experience is of a mentor, or a master, standing beside the apprentice guiding them through the rules of AACR2."
