More recently, however, I've had two very bad experiences, with Madeleine Albright reading her 2006/7 The Mighty and the Almighty like she was instructing us from the phone book (modulating her voice, but not in the service of meaning or passion), and Jeannette Walls on ... As always with Perry- a focused insight into the dark corners of Victorian society. Whenever I read one of her books, I realize how ... About one-third through The Mighty and The Almighty and even though it's ...with Bob Woodward, this lady is calling it as she sees it. Good for her. In every chapter so far, there are 2 or 3 paragraphs that stand out to make you laugh, re-think, and/or be astonished. ... over here, but I've put it on the Notify Me list at the store.
Getting more and more into Madeleine Albright's The Mighty and The Almighty albeit rather late in the day, literally and figuratively. ... Fiction" instead of "Crime". Needing to move on to something entirely different, I am continuing with Madeleine Albright's The Mighty and The Almighty. This one was not as good as The Mighty and the Almighty I thought it had the same lack of substance problems, but also suffered from a bit too much partisanship. I get that she doesn't like Bush, but bashing him is not a solution to the problem.
Next up: I ... 11. The Mighty and the Almighty. Good balanced take on the role of religion in foreign policy. She focused more on her impressions and experiences, which made it very readable, but also made the book seem to lack some substance.
