This is an excellent book to help small children understand the importance of practicing safety skills whenever they are near water. It incorporates words that kids can understand on their own, but it would probably be a good idea to have a parent read it with them to solidify the concept. ( ) This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I read this delightful book with my two and half year old grandson. We enjoyed the pictures and that the book had a quick version and a long version. Of course he being so young we always take the short version and he loves learning the fact of not going into the water unless your parents are with you. 4 stars. Enjoyed it! I got this book through the members giveaway program. It wa very easy and short, nevertheless delightful. The drawings are full of colors and nice, but not too sweet. The author made the big choice to make the book readable both for little and grown up children. I found it great for its purpose, teach children to wear a safety vest, and for any parent willing to teach his child to listen. Delightful This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. This was a really cute book. The illustrations were very bright and colorful, which I think keeps children's attention very well. I also liked how the book was "split" into two different stories. There are the captions that create a poem, for younger children (toddlers) and then the story is written for older children. I think this book would be a good book that can "grow" with your child. The story itself has a really good message and it's presented in a way that children can actually pick up on the message. I've read books with my niece in the past and when you ask her what the book was about she had completely missed the "moral". I do not think that will be a problem with this book. While the story is good the message isn't hidden. It's pretty straight forward. The writing is whimsical and I think it can really hold a child's attention. no reviews | add a review
