Hardback. This is a three volume set plus the New Testament - An Expanded Translation. First off, I would have given it five stars except the binding of the New Testament is of such poor quality that pages came loose within weeks of use, the other books have stood up to extensive use over many years but I treat them with kid gloves, they also will not lay flat, a little care is required, but the wealth of information contained within, makes the effort worthwhile. I mention this because a number of others have also lamented the poor quality of the bindings.

The Dedication reads;

"To the Missionary Translators, that noble band of men and women, who at great personal sacrifice, under the most trying conditions, and with prodigious labors, are giving God's Word to the peoples of the world in their own languages."

This reveals the main audience the work is intended for, however you don't need to be a missionary to desire the clearest in depth, revelation of God's Word.
Having completed missionary training, including principles of Bible translation I can vouch that these are books to take to the field with you. Make no mistake, this is intended for serious study of God's Word, you will have at the very least three books on the desk, Wuest, your Bible and a notebook, you can of course read the New Testament by itself, but accuracy is above an easy flowing reading style.
