I LOVE these books and I recommened each to everyone!!! #8: Have you read the first book in the series yet? It is called I'd Tell You I Love You But then I'd Have to Kill You. The third book in the series, Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover is due out in June 2009. I also enjoyed the first Ally Carter girls'-spy-school novel (I couldn't resist the title: I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You). When I read the novel, I wondered if some of the humor in it might not be wasted on teens. I think it's definitely the kind of book adults can get a ... ... got Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter out from the library right now. I liked the first book in the series (I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You), but am having a slightly harder time getting in to the second book. I'd Tell You I Love You.. looks entertaining! May try to seek that out.... there is a teenager of my acquaintance who might, when she's not busy writing her own poetry, appreciate that. Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up getting her How I Live Now, Prep and I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill You.
I gave her To Kill a Mockingbird last year and it wasn't a hit. Too bad, it's one of my favorite books. She's just not ready to move on to that type ... You might try Ally Carter's series set at Gallagher Academy. The first two in the series are called I'd Tell You I Love You But then I'd Have to Kill You and Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy. The Gallagher Academy, a girls' school, is a front for training spies. I enjoyed both books when I ... ... Friesner.
The Specialists series by Shannon Greenland starting with Model Spy or the Gallagher Girls series I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter would probably go over well.
I also really liked the recent The Possibilities of Sainthood ... ... of those was Boy Meets Girl. I think the first is The Boy Next Door.
