One of my favorite books of all time! This was just a marvelous story about overcoming adversity in life through the healing powers of true love. I'd recommend it to all of my friends and family! ( )

I love reading this author. This book was very moving and deals with a woman whose fiance calls off the wedding. Her best friend enrolls them in a humanitarian mission to work at an orphanage. The people they meet and have to deal with is very eye opening and moving. ( )

Just one more read that changes hearts and lives. A very enjoyable romantic book on faith that reminds us that when taking chances we may never know how much we can gain if our focus is on what we may lose. Definitely a feel good book! ( )

I stumbled into this appealing little tale before realizing it was essentially a romance -- a genre I avoid. The setting in rural Peru is what kept me reading. ( )

A light read, finished in an evening. Essence seemed to be that we can obtain relief of pain and find fulfillment by giving of ourselves to others, and that life will work out. Character development was shallow. Exposure to parts of Peru and the street children was interesting, but also not in depth.

"Seek not your destiny, for it is seeking you."

Just a week before their marriage, Christine's fiance calls off the wedding, leaving her heartbroken. With hopes of helping her through a difficult time, Christine's best friend Jessica enrolls them both on a humanitarian mission in Peru, to work at an orphanage called El Girasol -- The Sunflower.

It is while working at the orphanage that Christine meets Paul Cook, a successful and charismatic American doctor who has fled the States after one fatal day took away his career, his faith, and the woman he loved.

Unplanned events lead Paul and Christine into the jungle of the Amazon, where Christine must confront her deepest fears, and she, and Paul, must both learn to trust and love again.
