So this was a lunch break read today. To give you an indication of how quickly one can finish it. The concept is great, 'What would you say to your sixteen year old self?' The different celebrity letters were interesting to read. Some more poignant than others, some less. The end result was somewhat underwhelming, but still worthwhile. The nice thing about this book is that a small amount roughly 10% is donated to the charity, Doctors without Borders.

Things I learned from this book:

Don't Smoke

Wear Sunscreen

You are wiser than you know

You are not as smart as you think

Love yourself

It will get better

Not a bad bit of advice for a lunch break read. ( )

This is an amazing book. The letters it contains are a mix of touching, intimate, amusing and sincere. The commons threads they contain are what makes it relatable to all of us. ( )

A good idea, but not executed well. Lots of luvvies telling their 16 year olds how fabulous they are, and "don't ever change"... ( )

In this irresistible collection, some of our most beloved and fascinating personalities write letters to their teenage selves and, in doing so, give a rare glimpse into who they are today. More than sixty celebrities, writers, musicians, and actors deliver letters to their younger selves that give words of comfort, warning, humour and advice. Often handwritten and shown alongside a photograph of the writer at that age, these letters present intimate, moving and witty insights into some of the figures who captivate us most, comprising a collection that readers will want to talk about and share with others. A portion of the proceeds received by the author from sales of the book will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.Biographies & Autobiographies.essays, journals, letters & other prose.works.… (more)
