This book is by far one of the best in the series so far. All your favorite characters share the pages, but Lindsay Boxer, Detective for the SFPD, is the shining star in this horrific story about a twisted ex-military killer that murders young mothers and their babies. The manhunt to stop this demented criminal is carried on while searching for an interesting jewelry thief called Hello Kitty. The action was non-stop, and I devoured this book as fast as possible. I love the short chapters and the no-nonsense writing that contains zero fluff. ( )

Well, I made it through this one, although I almost quick at page 116. I had just about had it with the random points of view, and nothing seems connected and there's just too much going on, which seems to be a theme in these books. I skipped over books 7 and 8, but that didn't seem to make much difference as far as on-going storylines went. There were a couple of points that I had missed skipping two books, but nothing that made a big difference in the grand scheme of things. I don't understand the ending of one of the cases in this book, it has a sort of ending, but they still should have followed up on it but didn't and if this were real life, they would have (I'm trying not to give away any spoilers here). Towards the end the multiple stories started making sense so it got a little bit better but I'm still not a fan of James Patterson, and this will be the last book of his that I will read. I will never understand how he is one of the most popular writers in my lifetime.

All in all, if you're a fan of this series or author, then by all means, continue reading these books. I would recommend reading Riley Sager, Tana French, Karin Slaughter, Ruth Ware, Marie Force or Christina Dodd instead. ( )

There is someone out there killing mothers and their babies. Also, there is a thief robbing people; after a high profile robbery (an actor), the actor’s wife is murdered and it appears that the robber is also the murderer.

I listened to the audio and overall, this was ok. It seemed like every time there was a focus on the women’s personal lives, it was all about sex. Ugh! Did they even meet up beyond the one time at the end of the book? I’m at a point where it may not be worth it to continue on. The audio had my attention sometimes. ( )
