This book is simply lovely. I don't have any kids around and I still find the recipes very useful.
It's colourful, easy to understand and the recipes are indeed very good. Some of them are favourites around here. Good for students too! ( )

Summary:

A wonderful way to bring kids into the kitchen. This cookbook is filled with authentic New Orleans recipes that are delightful to learn and taste amazing.

Personal:

I love this cookbook. Not only does it have great recipes, but they are easy to follow and it gives me some time to bond with my son in the kitchen and teach him not to be afraid of the kitchen from an early age.

Classroom Extentions:

1.I would have a day where we would make a recipe from the book and then watch parts of the movie to tie-in the food with the movie and culture.
2.I would extend the assignment to a home assignment and have them(with the help of their parents) find books on New Orleans and the culture and surroundings. When they come back to school, we would share what they found out.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this book had some wonderful authentic New Orleans recipes in it. The book also includes photographs of the completed meals, which adds to the great visuals of the book. I bought this book for my five year old daughter, who loves the kiddie recipes in it. We have actually made the frog cup cakes already. They were easy to make and absolutely adorable. I have actually added this book to my cookbook collection. I highly recommend purchasing this book, you will not be disappointed. ( )
