A fun romp through a steampunk world. Goblins with over the top transylvanian accents. Mad scientists. ( )

This is the 2nd book in the Girl Genius series. It starts with Agatha waking up after being abducted to castle Wulfenbach. Once again Agatha ends up running around in her underwear! Gil Wulfenbach suspects there is more to Agatha than a pathetic student.

Girl Genius is a web comic about a mad scientists who seem to be able to break the laws of physics, and it all happens in a gaslight/steampunkish universe. Great art, great story and lots of fun. ( )

very, very good series. A bit funny, a lot of just fun images. There's definitely a larger story that is just beginning. Hard to stop reading hte series ( )

Love Girl Genius - I've been reading them online for quite a while, finally got the books (some of them - there's a couple volumes out that I don't have yet). The story flows nicely between volumes, but I think I can distinguish between them (as I can't for some, like Modesty Blaise). More weirdness happens and piles up on Agatha. Relationships start to form, and she meets some...interesting...people (from Othar to the generals to Krosp). The extra story is great, too - Trelawney. ( )

Sometimes there’s almost too much going on, with new concepts flying fast. I think it’s a compliment to the authors to say that I want to know more about most of these characters, and we don’t get enough time with them because the story keeps moving on.

In a time when the Industrial Revolution has become all-out war, Mad Science rules the world... with mixed success. At Transylvania Polygnostic University, Agatha Clay was a student with trouble concentrating and rotten luck. Dedicated to her studies but unable to build anything that actually worked, she seemed destined for a lackluster career as a minor lab assistant. But then the University was overthrown, and Agatha was taken aboard the giant airship Castle Wulfenbach - where it begins to look like she might carry a spark of Mad Science after all.… (more)
