This adventurous story is about a Peter, a boy who lives in an apartment in the city. On this snowy day, Peter crunches the snow with his feet, makes footprints and tracks through the snow, and drags a stick in the snow also! Peter in slightly disappointed when the big boys don’t include him in their snowball fight, and so instead he builds a snowman, makes snow angels, and slides down a snow mountain. Peter ends his full days of playing in the snow by taking a warm bath and recalling his adventures.

I enjoyed this story! I like that he doesn’t need others to have fun! I know the feeling, sometimes I’d rather being by myself. And I enjoy snow days for those reasons, example, making snow angels and snowmen!

Well obviously this is a winter book, but one classroom extension for this story would be to make a chart of ideas to do on snow days. Gather all the kids and have hot chocolate while talking about there snow adventures. Another is to bring pictures of their snow adventures. And make a snow man shaped collage of pictures for the class door.
