From the New York Times bestselling author who Gena Showalter calls "decadently sinful" comes a forbidden romance in the beloved Demonica series.
As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved, and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. Then Sin's innate ability to kill her enemies goes awry: She creates a lethal new werewolf virus that sparks a firestorm of panic and violence.
Half-werewolf, half-vampire Conall Dearghul is charged with bringing in Sin to face punishment for the plague. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood, and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her . . . and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own.

Really sorry to see this series end. This last book was just as fabulous as the rest. It had plenty of angst and sacrifice for love which I enjoy. And oddly enough, even though there are plenty of different types of magical creatures (which is a feature of some novels that I get impatient with), here I didn't mind at all. Each of the major demon and magical creatures was solidly identified and explained and any others were just mentioned peripherally, explained enough that you could visualize them briefly, and then let go. Throughout the series, LI made it easy to tell which demon sorts were important to remember and which were just colorful scene fillers. One of the highlights of the series is that the love of the H/h for each other showed through and made sense. Kudos to LI for creating a paranormal series with gigantic world building while keeping the focus of each book on the love story of the main characters. ( )

I REALLY enjoyed this fifth edition of the Demonica series. Can (Canal?) and Sin were great main characters. Can is a half-werewolf, half vampire, and Sin is Lor’s twin sister, the only female Seminus demon. They make a great pair, especially since Sin reminds me a lot of Tayla and is a very active female lead, leading the assassin’s den at the start of the book. Of course, when everyone in the den wants to take over and the only way to do that is by killing the leader, you have problems. The additional conflict of the werewolf virus/epidemic Sin caused in the previous book was interesting and complicated matters in a great way as now all the werewolves want to kill her.

One thing I found really well-developed in this one was the intricacies of the world-building with regards to the various groups of werewolves. You have born-werewolves, turned werewolves, half werewolves of various mixes with other species… and they don’t get along particularly well, which when you’re talking werewolves, gets messy. All the politics and infighting was lots of fun to read.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.

Sort of middling for me, but easy to read. ( )

great way to end a series, and start off with the spin off. I cried, I laughed, I was impressed with the way this book was. ( )

Dhampire and only female Siminus demon, she started the plague that is wiping out the wargs and she's targeted for assassination, he's the only one who can help her. Funny how hate can be the flip to something more, especially when a person stops to find out more about a person.

For all the medical personnel out there. You've been the inspiration behind these books. I admire the work you do, and I thank you for the risks you take with your own health and safety. I've imposed on many of you for advice regarding some of my medical scenarios, and I can't thank you enough.

Also, for my sisters-in-law, Stephanie Rice, Andrea Etheridge, and Ann Walker. Your support means so much to me... and it's a bonus that you like the books!

And for Steve Gitre. I know you would have been proud. You are missed.
