The art is Okay, but the real strength of Ocean Soup is the various rhyming poems and factual information about various sea creatures.

Pros: In addition to humorous poetry, the book offers readers factual information that makes learning fun. The glossary makes this more than just an entertaining picture book.

Buoyant cartoon illustrations accompany poems of varying quality about sea creatures found in tide-pools. Each poem includes factual information about the corresponding sea creature and a factual blurb accompanies each poem as well. Good for kids who love all things ocean.
