When I was on the METRA Northwest Line to Chicago and back every day from 2001 through 2005, the author sat in the same car across the aisle from me. He and a train buddy of his engaged a co-worker of mine, who sat just in front of me in daily conversation and banter. When I came across this book in the Crystal Lake library I slowly recognized the author and decided I had to read his book. The story is a bit kitschy and the author has an annoying habit of misusing the word whom in place of who, otherwise no major complaints. I had hoped to relive some train experiences. The story turns out to be a bit of a love story, but manages to deliver a philosophical appeal to enjoy the journey and not get so stressed about the destinations of life. Humorous as well as entertaining, it was a good read. But, you won't find it available in too many places. ( )
