Derrick Lee. What a frightening man. The sad thing is most of victims could have been spared. How many times was this guy arrested? Put in jail? Turned in via a tip? Only to be dismissed. This case was filled with flaws, again showing the need for police agencies to talk, to share, and not be blinded by one "type" of suspect. This is a good read. A scary read. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0425208877, Mass Market Paperback)

In the summer of 2002, a serial killer prowled the streets of Baton Rouge, preying on the city's best and brightest women. The authorities had a profile of their suspect. They were wrong. This is the shocking true story of the investigation that went awry--and the good old-fashioned police work that solved the case.
