About a little girl who loves art and making it, but only with her hat. When the hat goes missing, she finds a way to be an artist still.

36 months - a story about creativity and inspiration, we also learned what it means to have artist block which turned into a discussion about writers block and times when we just can't think creatively. This one was such a hit that O had me making Lemonade signs in chalk with a lemon for an O and lots of drawings around it. This is when you know she likes a book! ( )

Bridget’s Beret: This book would be great for those with artist’s block. Those that are learning about identity and creating art that is personal. For Bridget, she needs her beret, and when she loses that, she feels she can no longer make art. However the way she overcomes her lack of a hat or inspiration to create art again is really sweet and is a good lesson for children to learn.

I thought this was a great book about a young artist with artist's block but the lesson is applicable to anyone who is stuck on something and needs motivation. But the lesson here is not heavy handed and just fun and even surprising. I especially loved "Swirly Lemonade" - read this and see it for yourself! ( )
