An artist and his scholar wife are joined by two men on their journey to a festival held in a massive, ancient city, containing a mysterious artifact, a shrunken image of man, held seemingly forever outside of time. The two men are secretly intent on stealing the artifact. However, meeting a woman grieving for the man in the artifact raises questions about the nature of the artifact. There is a nice twist at the end. ( )
