Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 078841173X, CD-ROM)

Originally published as a 21-volume series by the Providence Record Commissioners, this collection presents such records as the minutes of town meetings, probates and wills, town papers, title deeds and the proceedings relative to particular town properties. Most of these records are from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. They include many names and other valuable historical and genealogical data pertaining to Rhode Island and the town of Providence, making them essential resources for researchers in those areas. A master index is also included. This book is presented as graphic images, so the user sees the works just as they were originally published. They are intended to look and function very much like "real" books. This is accomplished using the powerful Adobe Acrobat reader which is provided free on the CD for Windows and Macintosh systems. This CD has no electronic indexes, but the volume has a complete, human-generated, index to people and places. In addition, numerous electronic bookmarks have been added which make it easy to move through the books, and from book to book. This CD is best viewed with monitor resolution 800x600 or higher. 1999, CD, Graphic Images, Adobe Acrobat, v6, PC and Mac, c5546 pp.
