Chester Filbert thinks nothing happens on his block, but he's just not paying attention to all the things going on in the background of the pictures. Chester is a very dull character, and he's missing out on all the excitement behind him. The pictures are the most important part of the story, as it shows Chester's ignorance of the world around him. The theme is to show children that they need to pay attention to the world around them. It is a very entertaining story and there's always new things to find in each picture, and I would include this in my collection. ( )
