This series is fabulous. As a typical American, I knew next to nothing at all about the situation that is the backdrop for Dysart's impressive undertaking. I knew there was war in Africa, but my knowledge of it was pretty limited to stuff going on with Zaire/DRC, Rwanda, and the Lost Boys of Sudan. Unfortunately all this war just does not reach the ears of the average American, and I was no exception.

But aside from creating an engaging story that makes the reader deal with many questions about morality, and right vs wrong vs gray areas, Dysart has provided pages of background information on what has been happening over there, and where his work fits into the middle of it. This comic is a huge wake-up call, wrapped up in fabulous artwork and storytelling. Highly recommended to all. ( )
